Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro used his regular Sunday television time to announce that Venezuela will start issuing a virtual currency. Maduro claims that the ‘Petro’ will be backed by oil, gas, gold, and diamonds. However, the reality of the President’s proposal fails to match his rhetoric.
