Gold prices are moderately up in early U.S. trading Thursday, supported by a weaker U.S. dollar and U.S. stock indexes, and by firmer crude oil prices. April Comex gold was last up $5.40 an ounce at $1,238.20. March Comex silver was last up $0.067 at $18.03 an ounce.
