Gold Extends Early Gains As U.S. Dollar Index Hammered Lower
Gold prices saw a modest boost after a much-weaker-than-expected U.S. GDP report, but then those gains were extended when the U.S. dollar index slumped to sharply lower levels on the day and hit a nearly four-week low.
