In trading on Wednesday, the Gold Miners ETF (GDX) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 5.5% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Yamana Gold (AUY), up about 11.1% and shares of Newmont Mining (NEM), up about 8.6% on the day.
